You can create a simple watermark using just our text editor, or upload your own signature, logo or graphic. A watermark is the most professional way of automatically protecting your image.

To create your own text watermark, upload your image to Colorcinch and navigate to Text – Add Text. You can then adjust its size, position, opacity and other formatting attributes.

To use a graphic or logo as a watermark, first upload your photo to Colorcinch. Then, navigate to Image Manager and upload your logo. Finally, drag and drop your graphic onto the canvas and set its size, position and opacity.

There are several ways to stylize your text watermark from the Text menu. Choose from a variety of fonts, adjust the spacing and opacity, and even add a background or drop shadow.

Similarly, you can also stylize your logo watermark. First select your graphic to bring up the Image Manager. From there, add a Color Overlay, adjust its opacity and blend mode and experiment with other options under Layer Properties.

You only need to upload your graphic to Image Manager once. You can then reuse it as often as you’d like.

Alternatively, consider saving your watermark as a project. When a project is saved it can be reopened and reused as many times as needed.

If you intend to use the watermark with a transparent background, make sure that the file is in PNG format. Otherwise JPG/JPEG or PNG will work fine. You can always adjust your watermark using our editing tools.

While there aren’t any hard rules about watermark placements, make sure that your watermark is identifiable yet small and subtle.

It’s best to place the watermark in one of the four corners of the image and away from the main subject in the background. Consider adding transparency via Layer Properties for a less intrusive look. Logos or an icon are a great way of protecting your photos with a simple click.

You can then export your watermarked images to share elsewhere. That way, if people on the Internet want to use your image and remove watermarks, they need to ask permission first.
